PLR Articles

If you have been a webmaster or just a person trying to get traffic to your site regularly, you know the addage of ‘content is king’. That is so true. People will come back to your site if it has interesting contents, and search engines such as Google love to a site that has nice fresh content. But sometimes you don’t have the time or the knowledge of a particular topic to grind out a decent article on that topic. So what is a poor webmaster to do?

PLR (Private License Rights) Articles are articles that are written by people that are knowledgeable about a subject, or have the time to do the research to create a good article. These articles are free to use, reproduce and repackage for sale. Many people use them to help fatten up the content on their sites to bring in my readers as well as search engine traffic. There are many places on the net to get good quality PLR material. However there are a few things you need to consider.

If you go to a free PLR site looking for an article on a popular topic, thousands of people have probably downloaded that article. They have copied it to their site and most likely resold it again. Having an article on your site that is copied across the web to a couple hundred or thousand other sites usually doesnt go over too wel with the Search engines. If you are trying to sell an e-book made up of PLR articles, how many people will buy that when they figure out that its the same information the can get for cheaper or free from someone else. They may buy from you once, but they probably won’t buy from you again. One of my favorite sites for PLR articles is EasyPLR.com. They are my favorite beacuse not only do they sell ‘packs’ of PLR articles so you are getting many articles for your niche at once, but they also limit the amount of packs they sell, so there arent thousands of copies of the same article out on the internet. And, they also give a small portion of their sales for breast cancer research. Marketing with a heart.

The best use of PLR articles to me is as a ‘template’. Rebuild the article with the information provided in the article so that it isnt an exact copy. You can use the same tactic if you are using this for an e-book. I would suggest using one PLR article for every 4-5 of your own articles, not as a complete replacement. PLR’s are a great way to keep content fresh on your site, and provide more information for your users. Check them out
