Generating Traffic
Well obviously from the numbers of last month, it looks like all the basic components are in place on the site to generate revenue. Now the focus would seem to be getting the traffic to come in. Traffic gets brought in many different ways. The most common way is through things like meta tags, and SEO techniques. The topic for the next couple days (maybe weeks) will be generating traffic for your site/blog.
Before you even start trying to push traffic to your site, you need to make sure your site is in good working order. Look over your site for spelling errors, grammar mistakes, missing images, etc. Also, check all the links, make sure they work. There are quite a few places on line that will do this for you, you can also by software for this task, and last but not least, you can just check the links by hand. Links that don’t work are going to be a thorn in your side, and pretty much kill your google ranking because google spiders sites and links to and from that site to dictate your page rank. If the links are broke, well or rank wont be as high as it could.
Ok, so now you have your site set up. You have spellchecked it within an inch of its life, checked all links, have some brand new shiny content just waiting to be read by your future audience. Now what? Well now, you need to let the world know where you are on the net, and you do that with search engines. Over the next couple posts, I’m going to go from beginning to end on how to get your site more traffic, and put that same information to use right here on THIS site and see how it actually affects traffic. One thing I do know, is that when dealing with search engines, instant gratification is not a thought. It takes weeks, even months to get indexed by a search engine, and if you don’t do it right, well you’ve wasted that time, and then will waste the same amount again, after you go a couple weeks before figuring out that your page rank, meta tags, or a hundred other things are probably not right. So, I’ll take the time to go through different techniques and check them out, see how well they do or don’t work, and let you judge what you want to use.
Keep checking back daily for the updates!
